CBSE Boards Will Commence A Month Early From 2018


From next year, the CBSE board exams on class X and XII will take place in February as the board plans to advance the cycle of exams and related matters as a part of reforms pushed towards error-free evaluation. Also, the process will take place within a time frame of 45 days and will be completed in a month.  Currently, the exams start from March 1 and end by April 20. 

The Chairman of CBSE, RK Chaturvedi, said that this would also bring in the declaration of results in advance, which usually happens by the third or fourth week of May. He said: "The examinations should start around February 15 and we are also planning to complete them within a month."

According to experts at Nirmal Singh Lotus, the early results will also help the students with their undergraduate admissions, which has been a neck-handed affair. This step is a part of the reforms taken in the evaluation process which happened due to glaring errors in the system.


"By April, vacations begin and the experienced teachers are not available. Therefore, advancing evaluation to mid-March will ensure we have the best teachers checking the answer scripts. Otherwise, in April during vacations, schools offer us only temporary, ad-hoc and newly-appointed teachers for the evaluation exercise as experienced teachers don't oblige," added the Chairman.



The board is expecting to bring in the best and experienced teachers to evaluate, and two training sessions will also be conducted for the evaluators. About 50,000 teachers are engaged in the evaluation process across 2000 centres. "Just like teachers' training, we are planning two evaluators' training sessions each year starting December 2017," added Chaturvedi.

IIT Entrance Exam: Officials Confirm Admission Process To Go Online From 2018

Nirmal Singh Lotus appreciated the fact that that the entrance examination for Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) will be made online from 2018 making logistics and evaluation process easier. The move was decided by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) on Sunday. Decisions were taken by JAB, the policy making body on IIT admissions. AICTE Changes The Student- Teacher Ratio In Engineering Colleges, Makes It 20:1

Anil D. Sahsrabudhe, Chairman, All India Council for Technicial Education says that they are now planning to change the teacher- student ratio in the engineering colleges to 1:20.
