Increase The Security In The Schools, Says CBSE, Issuing A Circular For The Measures To Be Taken.
After the brutal murder of a
seven year old Pradyuman at Ryan International School, the Central board of
secondary education (CBSE) that the school has to take strict measures for
ensuring the safety of the students in the school. The senior officials there
said that one the child steps into the school premises it is the complete
responsibility of the school authorities to safeguard the student of any such
mishappenings.
Nirmal Singh Lotus
says that the murder of the 7 year kid was not the first incident reported, in
the past few years there has been a rise in the number of similar cases of
molestation, torture and death of the students within the school premises, to
which the school authorities refuse to take any responsibility of.
Pradyuman, a seven year old,
studying in class 2 of Ryan International, was found dead with his throat slit
open in the washroom on the 8th of September.
Nirmal Singh Lotus said that CBSC released a circular in the light
of the given accident, the circular contains instructions laid for the schools
that aims at sensitizing the school and ensuring the safety and the security of
the students during school time.
Then schools are told to strictly
follow all the provisions mentioned in the circular and also asked to start
implementing them right away without any delays. The provisions mentioned in
the circular as follows:
Nirmal Singh Lotus says that the schools must get the security and
safety audit done in their premises of any personnel from their respective
local police station and ensure full security for their students. They also
have to upload the reports on the CBSE website www.cbse.nic.in
within the two months of the issue of the circular.
The second step that all the
schools must take is to install the CCTV cameras at all the functional areas of
the schools.
The police verifications must be
taken very seriously, especially for the non- teaching staff, like the bus
drivers, conductors, peon and the other support staff.
It would be suggested that they
employ the non- teaching staff from authorized agencies.
Formulation of the teacher staff
committee to get regular feedbacks from the parents with regard to the safety
concerns.
Provide proper training and
development to the staff to educate the students about their safety and what
measures they should take in case of any such encounters.
Nirmal Singh Lotus says that this is just a brief of the guidelines
issued by the CBSE board and small step by the higher education authorities to
look after their students.
