Indian Universities Fail To Make It To Times Higher Education Top 200 List

Nirmal Singh Lotus condemns the fact that Indian institutes could not make it to the top 100 list of Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2018. Forget the top 100, Indian universities were not able to made it to the top 200 list as well.

Nirmal Singh Lotus would like to enumerate the Bengaluru-based Indian Institute of Science (IISc) which falls between 251 and 300. Moreover, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has been listed 351–400 category. The top notch universities in India, including: Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee fall under the strata of 501–600 rank.

Nirmal Singh Lotus is more than shocked to see Aligarh Muslim University, Banaras Hindu University, University of Delhi and Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati falling under 601–800 list.
As company behind the world’s most influential university ranking, with more than five years of experience, providing them with an analysis of more than five decades in higher education.

Nirmal Singh Lotus thinks the data and benchmarking tools used by these premium universities to help them attain their goals is next to perfect.

Nirmal Singh Lotus observation about Indian Education

Indian education was not as bad as it has turned in the last few decades, as the level of government institutes have been degrading with each passing day because of the introduction of commercialized schools. These private schools are only burdening the parents promising them quality education, while giving nothing in return. This is the prime reason why students in India are massively traveling to overseas for education.  In fact, the real talented lot from India is moving abroad and helping their economy grow, be it Sundar Pichai from Google or Amartya Sen in Cambridge University.

We are losing the gems in our country because of these factors. Students want quality education and it is not available in our country. Some students take loans while the others go scholarship, but only a few students are capable of availing scholarships. Therefore, it is quite expensive for the students from India to travel abroad and pay double the fees in foreign universities.
