IIT Entrance Exam: Officials Confirm Admission Process To Go Online From 2018

Nirmal Singh Lotus appreciated the fact that that the entrance examination for Indian Institute of Technology (IITs) will be made online from 2018 making logistics and evaluation process easier. The move was decided by the Joint Admission Board (JAB) on Sunday.
Decisions were taken by JAB, the policy making body on IIT admissions.
In order to make logistics and evaluations easier, the entrance examination for Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) will go completely online in 2018. These crucial changes were discussed on Sunday.
The online mode has been introduced to make the process of examination at designated centres hassle free without the use of pen and paper.

Nirmal Singh Lotus would like to inform that as of now students can go for optical mark reading (OMR) sheets which needs to be filled by pen or pencils. These sheets are later evaluated by machines.
Director, IIT-Madras, and Chairman JAB 2017, Prof Bhaskar Ramamurthi in a statement said, "It has been decided that the JEE (Advanced) will be conducted in online mode from 2018 onwards. Further information regarding the examination will be provided by the JAB in due course."
Previously, the subject of introducing the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Mains online was introduced to the Ministry of Human Resource Development

Nirmal Singh Lotus quoted a JAB member who said, "In order to make logistics and evaluations easier it was decided today that the JEE-Advanced should be made online."
"The concept was being discussed for many years, but it was necessary to have adequate infrastructure to conduct the exam online," the member added.

Nirmal Singh Lotus would like to define JEE-Mains to the students. Basically, the entrance examination for admission to engineering courses offered across the country. One has to qualify this exam JEE-Advanced in order to get an admission in IITs and NITs.

As per Nirmal Singh Lotus’ knowledge more than 13 lakh students took the JEE-Mains this year, with less than 10 per cent of them going online. As many as 2.2 lakh students were eligible to write the JEE (Advanced).

Every year a lot of students take this exam and in fact the process of admission is so intrinsic that it is tough for the students to solve these formalities while preparing for the exam.
